Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 June 2026
Puff is a quit-smoking app that helps you track cravings and build healthier habits. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
What We Collect
- Google account info — your name and email, used only for sign-in and displaying your name in the app.
- Session data — craving logs (trigger type, time, money saved), streak counts, and cigarettes avoided.
- Preferences — your name, cigarette price, dark mode setting, and earned badges.
- App events — anonymous actions like sign-in, trigger selection, and session completion, used to improve the app.
What We Don't Collect
- We do not record or store audio from your microphone. The mic is used in real-time only to detect when you blow — no audio is saved or transmitted.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not collect data from other apps or websites.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to:
- Sync your progress across devices (phone and browser).
- Show your stats, streaks, and craving history.
- Display personalised insights based on your triggers.
We do not sell, share, or advertise to you using your data.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore). It is associated with your Google account and is accessible only to you.
Data Deletion
You can delete all your data at any time from the app's Settings screen using the "Reset All Data" option. This permanently removes your craving logs, stats, and preferences from both your device and the cloud.
Third Parties
We use the following services:
- Google Firebase — authentication and data storage. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- GitHub Pages — hosts the app. No user data is collected by GitHub through this app.
Children
Puff is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated policy.
